SHED PURCHASING 101

In analyzing the current market trends, sheds have become increasingly available in certain areas.  With a multitude of brands to choose from, it is crucial to carefully research before investing in a shed. Despite the similarities in design among sheds, the differences in construction and overall quality may not be readily noticeable to individuals lacking expertise in construction.

Pre-built Sheds

Pre-built sheds are built in a factory and delivered to an independent dealer location for resale. The styles, features, colors, and other options are not flexible.  What you see is what you get.  Obviously, sometimes there’s a shed that’s perfect for your needs.

If your time frame for needing a shed is an issue, an on the lot shed can usually be delivered sooner than a custom designed shed.

Sometimes, on lot inventory sheds may not have been matched with a buyer for various reasons.  Just because it’s an older shed doesn’t mean that it has any structural issues or problems but just needs the right owner.  The dealer can advise you of the construction date for any shed and it just might have a discounted price.

Purchasing a Previously Owned Shed

All shed companies have Rent-to-Own options for buildings.  Often the renters will no longer have a need for the shed and will return it.  Then it ends up at a dealer location.  These sheds are available for purchase or again for rental.

These sheds are sold or rented “as is”.  It varies by company, and the age of the building but there is a possibility that a warranty may exist and can be transferred to the new owner/renter.

The pricing for these sheds depends upon their age and condition.

Purchasing a Custom Designed Shed

You can customize a shed at the dealer location.  However, the best method is to have an On-Site visit.  This allows for collaboration with you to tailor a backyard structure to meet your specific need and preferences.  We will focus on creating a custom shed design that aligns with your requirements, whether it be a functional storage unit or sophisticated studio.  Your tailored structure can be constructed either in our advanced manufacturing facility or on your premises.

The cost for a custom designed shed should be the same as a shed on a dealer lot with comparable features.
